On April 30th, 2015, the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands awarded the honorary doctorate to Prof. Ted Stathopoulos. The decision to grant the highest academic honor to Prof. Stathopoulos was taken unanimously by the internal university-wide evaluation committee.
Professor Theodore Stathopoulos is a world-renowned top scientist and engineer in building physics and wind engineering. His research exhibits an exceptionally wide scope, including numerical simulation, on site measurements, wind tunnel experiments and standardization for wind loads on buildings and structures. He authored more than 500 publications and received numerous awards for his achievements in research and teaching. Earlier, he was awarded the ASCE Aerospace Division’s Outstanding Professional Service Award, the Jack E. Cermak Medal of the Engineering Mechanics Institute of ASCE, the Davenport’s medal, the Senior Award of the International Association of Wind Engineering and an Honorary Doctorate by the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki.
